Economic Development

Chesterton is a town of just over 13,000 residents located in northwest Indiana on the southern shores of Lake Michigan. Town officials and residents have worked diligently to uphold yesterday’s traditions all the while pursuing economic development and looking to ensure a bright future for the town’s next generation. This close knit community has become the prime location to work, reside, operate a business, and everything else in between.

"Chesterton has always been and will always be a diverse community based on income levels, education, location, and workforce. It thrives on its blending of all the above. Without the marvelous mix we have, we would have been stunted in the latest economic times. Our census shows a 24% increase and that is definitely encouraging as Chesterton being the place to be." - 2011 Town Council President, Sharon Darnell.
