The Westchester Public Library, Thomas and Hageman branches, are participating in the Annual Indiana State Pass Library Check-out Program. This is in partnership with Indiana State Parks and the Indiana State Library to encourage people to visit libraries and state parks.

Children in grades 3 and up are invited to Westchester Public Library’s Crochet Club. Crochet Club will take place in the Children’s Department at the Thomas Branch of WPL, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, every Wednesday, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Class size is limited, and registration is required.

In November, at the Westchester Township History Museum’s book discussion group, Mad About Mysteries, join Cliff Goins for his presentation “Murder in the North Woods,” a discussion of books by William Kent Krueger and Paul Doiron. Krueger writes the Cork O’Connor series, set in Minnesota, about a very flawed former Chicago cop who gets caught up in cases that overlap his two cultures—white and Indian. Doiron writes the Mike Bowditch crime novels, set in Maine from the midcoast to the Canadian Border, which follow the Maine game warden as he struggles to find justice and peace.
