However, music of that decade cannot be discussed without recognizing the Grunge movement.   3. Children’s Crochet Club Meets Every Wednesday at Thomas Branch (Registration Necessary)

    Children in grades 3 and up are invited to Westchester Public Library’s Crochet Club. Crochet Club will take place in the Children’s Department at the Thomas Branch of WPL, 200 W. Indiana Avenue, Chesterton, every Wednesday, from 3:30 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. Class size is limited, and registration is required.

  7. WPL to Host Dr. Mikaitis for Community Conversations on Palliative Care

    Westchester Public Library invites the public to attend their new series, Community Conversations, which will feature area professionals sharing insight on health topics. After the great turnout and conversation that sparked from the screening and panel discussion of the PBS FRONTLINE documentary Being Mortal in April, program organizers knew the community wanted and needed similar programming. While these conversations might be challenging to start, it’s important that as a community we discuss various health topics.

  8. Children’s Movie: “Smurfs: The Lost Village”

    The Thomas Branch’s monthly children’s film screening returns with the feature film, Smurfs: The Lost Village on Saturday, September 30, 10:30 a.m. Attendees are encouraged to bring a pillow or a stuffed animal to cuddle and enjoy a movie on our big screen in the Children's Department. Popcorn will be provided! Patrons are welcome to stop in anytime during our feature presentation. All ages welcome, but children under eight must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
