  2. July and August Teen Summer Programs at Thomas & Hageman Branches

    Teens in grades 6 - 12 are invited to participate in various programs this summer at Westchester Public Library’s Thomas and Hageman branches. In addition to these programs, the teen summer reading program “Libraries Rock!” runs through July 15 at both branches.

  3. WPL Bandstand Concert and Film Series Continues with music by the Patti Shaffner Jazz Combo and the movie, Cars 3

    July 20, 2018, 7:00 PM - 10:00 PM @ Thomas Centennial Park

    Westchester Public Library’s concert and family film series continues at 7 p.m. on Friday, July 20, at the bandstand in Thomas Centennial Park in downtown Chesterton with music by the Patti Shaffner Jazz Combo featuring Leandro Lopez Varady. The concert will be followed by the family film, Cars 3 at dusk, around 8 p.m.

  4. Duplo Club

    July 21, 2018, 10:30 AM - 11:30 AM @ Thomas Library

    Westchester Public Library offers two brick clubs that meet monthly at the Thomas Branch Children’s Department. Lego Club is for children age 6 and up. Lego Club meets once a month on Fridays, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:30 p.m. with this month’s meeting taking place on July 13. Children are invited to imagine, create, and build with the library's Lego collection. Lego designs will be put on display in the Children's Department.

  5. Local Life in the New Century: 1920-1929

    July 22, 2018, 2:00 PM - 3:00 PM @ Westchester Township History Museum

    Come learn what was going on in the Duneland area where families still canned their own vegetables, but they might have bought the new breakfast cereal, Wheaties, and ready-made Wonder bread. Join Joan Costello for a look at Duneland in the 1920s when she presents “Local Life in the New Century: 1920-1929,” on Sunday, July 22 from 2-3 p.m at the Westchester Township History Museum.
