George's Gyros
In 1998, when we took over the Original George's Gyros Spot, Chesterton was a growing market area and seemed to be a prime location to start a small business. Items on the menu started with delicious hot dogs, polish, hamburgers, and of course, gyros. In 2006, we expanded next door and built a bigger building with a drive-thru. Our menu has now expanded to items such as six different types of wraps, several different appetizers, and substitutions for French fries, such as fruit, soup, or our homemade rice pudding. Every order is cooked to order, just the way you like it.

Lucrezia's
Visiting Northern Italy doesn't require a passport or euros if the destination is award winning Lucrezia Café. Readers of The Times Newspaper have voted Lucrezia the Best of the Region 2011 #1 Italian restaurant and for good reason. The service is formal, yet friendly and casual. The eclectic, upbeat atmosphere in the historic house has been attracting everyone from locals to Chicagoans to a celebrity or two since 1998! But it's the quality of the food that has earned Lucrezia kudos, including a featured spot on the ChicagoTV shows, 190 North and Check Please! Everything on the menu is made to order from scratch by Chef Alfredo including the desserts. Savor Chef Alfredo's magnificent creations like calamari salad, chicken vesuvio, rigatoni with smoked chicken and the ever so popular braised lamb shank. "We buy halibut and salmon directly from a fisherman in Kodiak, Alaska. We make monthly trips to O'Hare to pick up the fish which is flash frozen shortly after being caught," says local owners, Michael and Nada Karas.

Don't Miss dining alfresco in Lucrezia's brick-paved, private garden. Grab a signature martini, cocktail, or glass of wine from the sophisticated wine list and relax beneath the branches of the tallest Japanese maple in Indiana Dunes Country.
The Port Drive-In
Although we are just a small, "Mom & Pop" establishment, our longevity has made us a bit of a legend - a part of Chesterton's history. Terry Gassoway, the current owner, began working here at age 11 when his parents purchased it. That was 1957. A lot has changed since then, but we still serve the same great chili dogs, made to order burgers, fresh daily coleslaw, fantastic shakes, and frosty mugs of the root beer that's made right here. And it's all delivered to you in your car by our friendly car hops! Or, if you prefer, dine at our picnic tables or in our dining room. The Port Drive-in is an authentic, nostalgic blast from the past. No visit to Chesterton is complete without a treat from the The Port. Be there or be square. Or, at least visit our website, or, on Facebook, at I Love The Port Drive-in.
Popolano's

Our team of Chef's brings you only the finest and freshest ingredients with a wide selection of made to order entrees including hand cut steaks, pastas, seafood, pizza and sandwiches served in a historical Civil War era building filled with Old World charm. Jerry and Cyndy Paliga chose Chesterton as their second location for Popolanos because of the friendly, old fashioned small town ambiance it portrays with its small shops, plenty of antique stores and cultural opportunities.

Tonya's Patisserie
Tonya Deiotte had a dream since she was a little girl. She would open a bakery in her hometown of Chesterton, Indiana, where her mom and extended family would help with the work, and all of her friends and neighbors would come and feel at home in her shop. Tonya set out on her culinary journey in local NW Indiana bakeries and restaurants like Marilyn's Bakery and The Strongbow Inn. She went on to complete the Pastry Program at the Culinary Institute of America (CIA) in Hyde Park, NY, and then become the Executive Pastry Chef for both Restaurant Ralph Lauren followed by the Le Meridien Hotel in Chicago, and Pastry Chef and Decorating Supervisor at Eli's Cheesecake Company. In 2008, she realized her dream when she opened Tonya's Patisserie (corner of 4th and Broadway in Chesterton.)

Recipes vary from old world family favorites to any you might find in upscale fine dining restaurants around the country. For a small kitchen and shop (she has 16 seats in the bakery café, 6 more on the front porch, and 24 on the front deck when the weather is nice) the daily selection is amazing. Lunch and dinner menus and most of the sweets and savories in the pastry cases change daily. Her freshly baked breads (try the Salami and Swiss; Potato, Cheddar and Sweet Onion; or Cranberry Walnut), soups and pasta dishes have become reliable favorites in all types of weather. Now in it's 3rd year, Tonya's cuisine marries her love of seasonally fresh and locally available ingredients with the European traditions of using only the highest quality butter and chocolate. It's hard not to get hungry when you walk in the front door in the morning and smell the cinnamon rolls baking. Once you sample her baked goods and menu, we know you will be back again and again.
